Lima industrial market 2019
At year-end 2019, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) closed at 2.2% (compared to 2018, where it closed at 4.0%). This result supported the positive evolution of commerce segments, construction, telecommunications, transportation, lodging, restaurants and other services, however,activities such as, fishing, manufacturing, mining and hydrocarbons decreased.
The Instituto Nacional de Estadistica (INEI) mentioned in their technical report that economic growth for the period January-November 2019 was positive based off the favorable consumer trend of households reflected in the minor increase of 3.14% and on consumer credits by 12.83%. Likewise, there was an increase on real exports of nontraditional products like agricultural products, fishing, chemical, metallurgic; and from the traditional type products, exports increased for fish oil and flour.
